Help End Homelessness Howard County is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Howard County, Maryland. 

BulletMission Statement:

HEHHC, Inc., was formed for the purpose of providing below-market-rate housing for a family or up to 3 unrelated adults who are either homeless or face the prospect of homelessness with market-rate housing. This will be accomplished by purchasing a suitable dwelling and leasing it, as permanent housing, at 30% of resident income.  We will repeat this as many times as we can, based on funding we are able to raise.

Ken Katzen, Vice-president

Active in the Day Resource Center and Cold Weather Shelter. Local Coordinator, Appalachia Service Project. Former Director, Howard County Volunteer and Self-Help Housing Coalition.

Normale Doyle, Secretary

Board of Directors and Secretary for Glen Meadows Condominium. Retired Computer Specialist/Data Base Administrator Social Security Administration. Active in the Day Resource Center and Cold Weather Shelter.

Randy Malm, Treasurer

Past President, Kittamaqundi Community Church; Owner, Home Care Projects, LLC (Housing improvement/rehabilitation) serving Columbia, MD. Active in  Day Resource Center & Cold Weather Shelter. Active in Safe House of Hope (women’s shelter, Baltimore, MD). Active in Agape House Children Saturday Program (Baltimore, MD). European Tour organizer, Columbia Jazz Band. Design Engineer, retired.

Jan Kary

Principal Consultant of her own firm, Jan Kary & Associates, Jan assists non-profit organization in an assortment of fund development activities specializing in foundation outreach, event management, and corporate engagement.

David C. Stancil

Pastor of Columbia Baptist Fellowship, Columbia, MD; founding board member of the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Bristol, TN/VA (provides temporary housing for homeless families); sponsor of the Bristol Ministry Mall in Bristol, VA, a bringing together of various services for the homeless; board member and president of the board for Bristol Faith in Action, a large ecumenical ministry that assists with housing needs of the poor and homeless.

Leonard Vaughan

Over forty-five years’ experience in residential property development and management in public, private, and charitable residential realty. Founding Board Member of Rebuilding Together Howard County (formerly Howard County Christmas in April.) Leadership Howard County, Class of 1994. Former Columbia Council Village Representative.  Founding Board Member for the  Carrington House Corporation (home for recovering drug addicts.) Former Board of Directors, Light Street Housing Corporation and Community Capital of Maryland. Former Chair, Affordable Housing Advisory Committee of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.
