Mission: To help solve homelessness in
Howard County, Maryland, by:
- Providing permanent housing for homeless
Serving as a model and resource for others.
There are over 600 homeless households, which include over 500 children, in the county. Community agencies and organizations provide respite, emergency, and transitional housing to some, but that housing is of limited duration. Under the county’s Coordinated System of Homeless Services, permanent houses will become available, but for the lowest income families there is still nowhere to go.
Our goal is to buy
properties to house those families. We will take advantage of the proven
Housing First model, attacking homelessness by providing permanent housing.
After establishing people in homes, we will offer partnership with them as
they get back on their feet. Working within the framework of the Coordinated System of Homeless
Services, we will utilize local resources to identify and support residents in
In addition, we have
set a goal of being a model and resource for other organizations that desire to
do similar work.
We want you to be part of
this response. Through your contributions of money, effort, talents, and
prayer, we can move together from managing homelessness in Howard County to
beginning to solve it.
